I rented an Excavator back in June.

Was a fun machine and did the job well. No complaints

After talking to an Operator Friend he said he rented one also and it was the same as the Bobcat he usually operates.

He said it had Ingersoll Rand name on the back of the manual in the cab.

Just wondering who makes these.

Makes me also wonder who makes the new Bobcat Tractors just out.

If you rented a KX121, it was engineered, designed and manufactured by Kubota.

Bobcat is marketing tractors built by Kioti and painted white, instead of orange.

Good merchandise but the local Kioti dealers are not happy.

Lookin the the back of a KX 121 manual and see if it says Ingersoll Rand.

There was no manual in the unit I rented.

I don't know what you are looking at, but 99% of Kubota excavators are made by Kubota. There maybe some small outsourced pieces from IR in Japan, but they come across the Atlantic assembled already. Of course Bobcat uses Kubota diesel engines, are you looking at something there?

I have a KX121, there should be a blue diamond, metal seal stating the machine is a Kubota export product from Japan below the windshield on front of the machine. Kubota made by Bobcat, I mean Doosan???? Never!

I will look for the seal next time I get to the dealer.

I never said it was made by Bobcat. I said my Friend who is an operator rented a Bota and it was built and operated the same as the bobcat he noramly operates. He said the manual had IR in the back of it.

Since he told me that I have wondered what he was smoking that day.

With all the "who builds what for you" I was curious.. Yop never know..

There are different types of controls... that might have been what he meant. I used a Terex trackhoe and it had about four different types of controls you could choose from..... JD, Cat, etc. That way the operator can switch to what ever type of controls he is used to. But if it was a Kubota machine... I'm 99.9% sure it was made by Kubota.

The controls would operate the same as there is a lever near the floor on the right so they can match the controls offered on other makes.
IR has nothing to do with Kubota other then they used their engines. They would be going down hill to market there excavators.

IR owned Bobcat until they sold it to Doosan last year. All their advertising, manuals, etc. did say IR somewhere.
