I'll let my Picasa web albums speak for my work. The link is in my signature. The majority of my shop is in the basement, with the welder and horizontal bandsaw in the garage. My power tools consist of two metal cutting bandsaws (vertical & horizontal), welder, drill press, table saw, chop saw (wood), one 4.5" angle grinder, Bosch rotary hammer, Milwaukee hammer drill and Sawzall, a couple of hand held circular saws, a hand held jig saw, a dremel tool. Hand tools include measuring tapes, rules, and squares; along with hammers, clamps, and other assorted stuff.

Happy to be one of the canidates:cool: I have always been in all phases of DIY implement build, re-build, re-purpose arena. I was Born into a farming family, and later working in the timber industry. Implement build, rebuild or re-purpose has just been part of doing business and a way of life for me.

I left the timber industry and did work as a general mechanic and implement/tractor assembly specialist at a small local dealer for 3 years, 97' to 2001.
Repaired and assembled all sorts of new, used implements brands and assembled new kubota and ford tractors.

A growing family then and just starting our tree farm in 2000, a job offering from a logging company with substantially increased earnings could have not been better timed for me. So I went back to the timber industry.

I use smaller CUT implements in nearly all phases with the tree farm from ground prep, planting and maintenance. Not to mention plowing snow from the drive in the winter, and some occasional custom tractor work.

I don't own a large and extravagant tooled-up shop. My "shop" is a 30' by 30' heated two car garage complete with cement floor. When bigger projects need done, the rigs get the boot till the project is done. I am armed with a little better than average knowledge on implement assembly with average tools. A 120v mig welder, clamps, bench grinder, angle grinder, torch, full range of metric and s.a.e wrenches, socket sets from 1/4 dr. to 3/4 dr. assorted pneumatic and impact tools and such. No metal breaks, press rollers, cnc things or lathes.

Most things I have built, re-built and re-purposed was before I discovered TBN and have no pictures of. Like my tree tie ring that mounts to the loader of the 790 that lifts and holds limbs on trees so they can be tied up before the tree can be dug with a skid steer mount tree spade. I do have some pictures of some things though......

First pic is of ol' no. 15. An OLD, cantankerous No. 15 deere sub-soiler I brought back to usefulness by fixing a busted trip/lift mechanisim. I do pull it with the 790, That's why I call it cantankerous.

Next in line is my waste oil burning stove I built from scratch with assorted junk. Its the 'ozzirt' design that burns waste oil so clean there is No smoke at all, none. It heats my garage very nicely.

Third is my FEL forks built from junk and two axle shafts for forks. This set was built to load and move dug b&b trees with the higher back design.

Fourth is a 5 foot deere crow foot packer That started out as 36 inch. Its the product of combining the best parts left from shot 3 and 4 foot packers. Axle in it is from a soil pulverizer

The spike tooth harrow shown was headed to the scrap yard resembling a pile of bent-up T-posts, with spikes. I rescued it, re-assembled it and welded it up solid.

The tiller and packer 'tilla-packer' pic was an idea that I never got time to refine more with a better connection to the tiller. Its also a deere packer.

O.k, when up loading the pics got mixed up. Hopefully everyone can tell a waste oil stove from a sub-soiler:duh:

I'm exited about the whole deal. I really like ETA's idea of DIY implement kits and would love to do build one of there prototype implements.

I think I could represent the product well. Documentation, skill level and the ability to think outside the box is a big plus for me (at least I think it is) It's also been said I'm a perfectionist but I don't believe that

These are just a few examples of what I've done. There are many more examples of my work on the bottom of my signature and many more threads on this site. The two bottom projects are none tractor related BUT I think most members have or will enjoy seeing them.

My wife and I run our little automotive repair shop here but I like to think up ideas and lay them down on metal from time to time. As they say " A change is as good as a rest and if its worth doing then its worth doing well"

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/192429-my-uniquely-built-30x50-pole.html

I too will let my work and documentation speak for itself. I don't post EVERYTHING I do, I am always making stuff, Those are just the bigger and/or tractor related stuff.

I have a large polebarn, that is well heated so I could get started ASAP. Also will have pleanty of time to do it cause my place of employment is closing down Jan 1st.:mur:

I an by no means a professional. I have a ~30 year old Linde 225a Mig welder and a 60+ year old Craftsman 200a Stick. I am NOT a welder or fabricator by trade. And I dont make money out of my shop or with this equipment. I consider my self just an average person in the area where I live. I have been a memeber here for quite awhile, and I do like doing these kind of projects and as you can see, I'm not going anywhere and not afraid to post tons of pics.

I guess I cannot really add any more than that. There are quite a few people that were nominated that I am sure would do an excellent job as well, Why you should vote for me over them........

...............I haven't a clue:laughing: Boy, I'd make a great politician:laughing:

/ Everything Attachments Nominee "Why you should vote for me" thread #6
Oh BOY looks like I made it into "LUCKY 13 SPOT" above  :x Just my luck :D

Well first of all I'm not welding for a living, I'm setting in front of a desk (for now.) I've in the past welded fabricated and designed equipment for industrial uses. Built from scratch a LOT of stuff, way too much to list for my old jobs which got me into the desk job I have now.

I have built much of my own equipment for use behind my JM284 Import 4x4 C.U.T.. I bought it with a few items directly from/thru China along with 3 other tractors. I sold off the 3 and kept one for myself did the assembly on 2 of them totally.

I WISH boy do I that I had half the equipment above, I have an OLD Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC 220V stick welder and a import 110Mig. The Mig has Gas & that does pretty good for up to 3/16" metal. I've got a good bit of hand tools and air tools for most of my needs. I've also Painted Cars/Trucks & Equipment professionally, prior to joining the USAF as a Aircraft Hydraulics Specialist.

As for shop 38x50 Pole Barn with good floor and power, (no heat YET.) (a Corner can be seen in the Dump Trailer pics and a build up of the barn can be seen at the links below.)

Modified and added value to my tractor and most of the work on my barn was by ME and my Family.
While I work hard for myself and others $ never has come easy. I usually buy used old or build my OWN regardless of what it is.

Some things I'm proud of.
My Pole Barn, structurally I hired a good bit of framing & Concrete work but all the dirt work all the Prep and such was done by myself & family. Posting a link as there are videos and photos there.
BARN photos Photos by WPSPIKER | Photobucket

Built & painted my own dump wagon for farm use (built in my old work/shop.)

With my tractor at my farm, the yellow lift barn/3PT lift on back is made from scrap by me as well.
08130006.jpg

set of forks made from scrap.
CARRYALL.jpg

On my place I also do some Sugaring for myself, Family & Friends so I built a larger SS Pan to boil sap into Syrup doing all the fab/welding work myself. Really a lot of work for the amount I make 4 or 5 gallons every few years tapped from trees on my farm. all done Hard/Old Fashioned way.

For more on this links are here syrup stuff Photos by WPSPIKER | Photobucket

Some of the OTHER types of Projects can be seen here mostly home items & such.
Projects Photos by WPSPIKER | Photobucket

Anyhow the last items i have been looking at building for myself has been a Grapple to mount onto my FEL on my tractor. I do like the thoughts and Ideas passed along here and I post a good bit mostly replying to others posts looking for help. I do most all my own Car/Truck maintenance and in above "Projects" link you can see my latest project, an engine rebuild for the woman's car. Pulled the engine from a wreck and I'm now waiting for time to get it installed...

DStig1 was also nominated I did not see his name on the list.

I am not a professional welder but I did not start yesterday. I feel I fit the demographic perfectly of the average person that would purchase a kit from Everything Attachments. I have a heated garage so I could start ASAP. I have a Snap MM140SL mig welder and DC TIG conversion for it, Lincoln arc welder, torches, grinders, hand tools etc. I would be honored to get to build the first kit from Everything attachments. It would be about the best Christmas present ever:D I am not very good at talking about myself so here are pictures of thing I have made since I have been a member here.

Yea??? I know I nominated him on like the first page of that thread???

Maybe he requested not to be nominated?? Or maybe Aaron contacted everyone that had a third party nomination just to get a yea or nay??? Or it could just be an oversight??

Either way, if dstig1 has any interest, I think he should be included in the voting. But I understand if he isnt interested as well.

Also....When is the voting?? or where is the voting:rolleyes:

Well here is my pitch. I'm not an expert, that's why you should vote for me. I've never built any super complicated. I did build an implement this past summer. It was a set of harrows and a chain link drag behind it. You can find it in my profile. It turned out like a POS. That's my point. I'm the potential customer ETA would like to have. I don't live within the ETA's 1000 mile free shipping zone, so shipping is an issue. My skills are average in this area. I can read and follow instructions just like anyone else. As a power electrician that's what we do, we follow detailed instruction for complexe equipment for testing, maintance and assembly.

By the way the POS implement got separated into two different implements and they work great now.

I'm in need of a land plane. I've seen quite a few different designs on here from fellow TBNers. I'd like to build one, I don't think its very complicated but I have no idea where to start. If I could find a kit with precut steel, I'd jump all over it.

I copied Dstig1's name from the thread, but apparently didn't past it into the list, fixed now.
Voting will happen after the list of people is confirmed complete as otherwise someone could get missed by early voters (stay tuned on Monday afternoon for a place to vote).

 No I just found out I was nominated when I got Aaron's PM a few minutes ago. I must say, I'm flattered. Hey if you want average fab skills, then I can certainly live up to that billing, especially if you count the 98% of society that can't weld to balance out the 4Shorts of the world. That averages out well to describe me

My experience - I'm an engineer but don't deal with metal but rarely at work (molded plastic parts, for the most part). I've taken a couple welding classes at the local tech school, including one about two years ago that focused mainly on stick. I've used stick and then MIG for several tractor related projects.

Equipment: My main equipment is the Miller XMT304 welder with a 22A feeder, that I mostly use in wire feed with .035 wire, but I am also set up to do stick with it (6010, 6011, 7014, 7018 mainly). I got it used from an auction for a very good deal, which is why I have a much better welder than I should by all rights. Other equipment is the typical stuff - abrasive cutoff saw, a few grinders (4.5" and 7"), disc sander, drills, saws, various clamps and hand tools, and an oxy-propane torch, mostly for cutting but I also use it for heating stuff too. I also have access to some better equipment at work such as a plasma cutter, mill and lathe if I really need it (and I know how to use them to an OK degree - kind of like my welding). My welding table, if you can call it that, is the old trailer ramps that came with the used trailer I bought with the tractor that were failing. Those go on my sawhorses as one real high class unit  You'll see it in the threads below. I use other means (clamps, magnets, squares, levels, tacking) to ensure things go together square as I can't count on my table for that.

What I've done so far is shown below in a few threads I've posted:

The snow plow was the biggie:
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/snow-removal/254357-ssqa-fel-snowplow-build.html

I've also modified my grapple to fix a design flaw (it would fall off the SSQA under load!)
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachments/206260-gator-grapple-fix-kubota-ssqa.html

I made a toolbox and chainsaw holder for the tractor:
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/185744-overkill-industries-toolbox-chainsaw-holder.html

I modified and added to the welding cart I got along with the welder from the auction:
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/welding/214367-thinking-welding-cart.html

Improved the grill guard:
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/welding/219535-grill-guard.html

So I've got some experience but not tons, and I'm sure as heck not to the level of some of these guys. As you can see, I tend to write a lot when describing things ... some may argue too much... but I can thoroughly document the process. Being an engineer may help a bit as I am used to solving problems, whatever comes up. If that's what you are looking for, I'd certainly be interested in giving it a whirl.

Thanks to LD1 for the nomination!

I am not a professional welder. I am an engineer by training. I am an individual that tries to do the best in everything they do.
I have a 250 amp stick welder. I have O/A equipment; tanks, torch, and tips . I have 3 hand grinders and one nice bench grinder. Lots of hand tools for metal working. My fancy tools are for woodworking (not helpful in this discussion) but have been collecting higher end metal working tools but am still more primitive than many. I have repaired a lot of my attachments that have suffered wear and tear.

I do not know if I am the right person or not. The membership and Everything Attachments will make that determination.

Positives:
I am a very detailed oriented individual.
I do good work and document things to a high detail due to previous training.
The last project I worked on is documented in this thread (first 7 postings):
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/hydraulics/260184-adding-multiple-hydraulic-control-valves.html
Have O/A welding experience from 40 years back. Have tanks/torch/tips equipment.
Only recent stick welding experience (a little less than a year). Last winter acquired 250 amp stick welder which is a very nice piece of equipment.

Negatives:
Long time O/A skills but limited arc welding experience (only a bit under one years worth) but have a forum member (Shieldarc) who has been mentoring me and he is an asset of immense skills. Wish I knew 1% of what he does.
Time limitation due to primary job can take me longer than I would like to do some projects. (i.e. I am not retired)

/ Everything Attachments Nominee "Why you should vote for me" thread #17
Since I'm on the list perhaps I should elaborate a bit to justify my possibly being selected.

Projects: heated cab on my MT180D (shown on TBN bbut not documented as it was B4 TBN)
manual snow plow for MT180D (documented on TBN)
plow sub frame (documented on TBN)
electric snow blower rotation using winch motor (often discussed and explained with members)
tooth bar (documented on TBN)
FEL forks (not documented)

made my own chains (well mostly as I dis assembled a pair and rebuilt to every 3 link for better traction and smoother ride)
rear weight using 300# elevator wt. (B4 TBN)

Oh, and so many other little projects that would simply have been repetitive that I did not bother posting like fuel cart and pump, mirrors, cup holders chain hooks etc etc.
Might add that my first welder was homemade affair whereby I modified an industrial step up transformer and re wound the secondary using 1/4 copper tubing with the first welds being accomplished using vise grips and rubber gloves.
Boy sure learned welding techniques with that DIY rig!

Tools for project: 230 amp stick welder (hobart), grinders, painting equipment and too many hand tools LOL! (as my wife will attest)

Ideally would like 'kit without hydraulics' i.e.; a cut 'ready to weld' grapple kit to fit on my 48" loader bucket.

NB,; being in Canada I'd be willing to help offset shipping somewhat.
My biggest obstacle is the cutting of the metals required for a grapple as this requires a plasma set-up which as a DIY type is not an option for the limited usage I would give it and I suspect that there are many in this situation. I would naturally provide dimensions of my 48" loader bucket.
Also have good Canon camera for construction details (and promise many PIC's and detailed write up)

My name is Jody and my wife and I have a small farm in Ms. I am 31 years old and learned to weld in college,MSU college of business (hail state) / welding school of painful experience( **** yeah). I have welded professionally for years. I have done fab, structural, repair, pipe, high paying jobs, low paying jobs, junk iron, wrought iron, red iron, white iron, but never a curling iron.If you need a mint I also have certs. I weld off my truck most of the time and I run lean on tools. I do most of my welding with a stick as I like the control of the weld and it is more cost effective for me. I use a cutting torch and learned how to use to make clean pretty cuts not pretty clean cuts.
I take great care in my work. Welding is the easy part if everything is prepared correctly. Over the years I have gotten many up and running right there were everything fell apart. I brazed hyd lines to get hay up, cut out gear box mounts on bush hog decks and replaced the steel cutting bolts holes that fit with a torch, built sheds and barns and shops, welded disc axles back together, welded cracked tractor rims, backhoes bulldozers, dump trucks, trailers, pedal tractors, four wheelers and a lot of boring stuff. I have done a lot of fab and specialty work including decorative work. I am interested because we trying to open a tractor dealership and think these kits would be great for us. I am willing to do whatever it takes to be a success. I know plumb, level, & square, understand the importance of three point hitch geometry and I read very well for my size. I do have a shop built from handy material available on a shoe string budget. I do have all necessary tools and can document and explain. Pics in next posts. Thanks!
