Looks like a small version of the walking logging machine I've seen videos of. They use it in boggy areas in Europe.

There is a very much older version of the walking tractor on one of Farm Show Magazine's videos, I think it used a Fordson tractor as a power unit. Both are a good way to shake up your lunch!

It looks like so many other things that are built purely as an exercise in design engineering, but once built will find all kinds of uses.

We never really got much from the Moon, but the technology that was developed as a result of the Apollo space program benefits all of us on a daily basis.

It's the same with climbing Mt. Everest. There's not much of anything practical that can be gained from climbing a mountain that big, but the lessons learned from it benefit us all. Think of all the cold weather gear and camping equipment that is influenced by climbers, adventurers, and enthusiasts.

Hey, lighten that baby up about 1000 pounds, computerize the motivation, a few rubber grommets and feet, and you could have a practical ATV that could go almost anywhere without damaging soft ground.
