The rest areas on the NYS Northway (I87) have been redone and part of that boondoggle waste of millions of dollars was free ev chargers.

Apparently that example doesn't fit the box
D&D is one of those intellectuals who can scan every 10th word and believe he has read and understood the content.

If he knew anything he would know I am totally against all government handouts, picking winners and losers, incentives, etc. He couldn't even read post #2139 EV owners of today and tomorrow to understand my ridicule of the current State Capitalist Economics. He was blinded just reading every 10th word thinking it said what he wanted to read.

Nothing is 'free' at any motel or hotel. The price of ancillary 'perks' including 'free' charging or continental breakfast or any 'extra' supposedly free services is baked into the price of the room. After all, they are businesses and if not profitable, don't stay in business.
That is why I too quoted "free" in my post.

Look at BYDs expansion program, and you can see Tesla, eating dust and pounding dirt for protectionism.

Yesterday I met with the owner of Eastside Collision in Murray KY concerning my Model Y repairs.

He stated he was initially concerned about working on a new Tesla that required new body parts. He said he learned Tesla repair is similar to working on any newer car.

It did take some time and effort getting set up to be a repair shop that can order directly from Tesla. He said he was surprised to see how you can get most of the common body parts used off of eBay now. Tesla's that receive frame, damage, airbag, etc. are totaled out from the get-go.

I hope to have it back home in the driveway by this time of next week.

I don't expect to dee BYD ever being sold here anyway and if they were, I'd never consider one because of their penchant for self incineration.:p

Gale... Didn't know you got in a wreck... I did as well (sort of) with my Focus RS. Big tree limb fell on it in the driveway and smashed in the roof. I was able to drive it to the bump shop a friend operates on the other side of town. He estimated the total repair (replace the entire roof panel plus the windshield and hood and repaint it came to very close what the car was worth) insurance wise and the insurance company wanted to total it to which I said no. One, it runs perfectly, two, gets 40 mpg and three, they are no longer made and 4, what I'd get on a total at today's inflated car prices would leave me buying a new buggy plus a car payment and I don't want a car payment, so, being the fact we know each other, he 'adjusted' the total cost to where the insurance company would cover the total repairs and he even worked it so it included my deductible. I got my buggy back completely repaired and no out of pocket (deductible) cost either. Not a bad deal and it pays to know the right people. I was able to find a salvage hood within driving distance at a Detroit bone yard in pristine condition for a heck of a price so my wife and I took the Burb up there to the hood and bought the hood and took it back to him and he installed and painted it. That brought the cost down to just below the total price. The hood alone was over a grand new but I got it for 200 bucks and like I said, pristine condition, all it needed was a repaint because it was the wrong color.

Was without my buggy for 2 weeks. Not bad.

No way I'd even consider a new buggy at today's inflated prices or a vehicle payment. I paid cash when I bought it off lease and I don't want a vehicle payment, nor do I ever want to finance a finance company.

Not only did I get my buggy fixed, the insurance company covered cutting sown of the entire tree and I had one of my arborist tree company's cut it down for a heck of a price. All I had to do was grind the stump myself, which I did because I own a stump grinder and dispose of the large limbs and trunk which went on the ever present roast pile. No deductible on the because it was considered storm damage, act of nature. All in all, I came out smelling like a rose. He chipped up the small stuff, I roasted the big stuff.

I'm really dismayed at the idiots roasting tesla cars and dealerships and I hope they get caught and prosecuted. No excuse for doing that sort of vandalism, don't care if they like Musk or not. I do (like Musk and DOGE and what they are doing) which is ultimately saving me money). I find Musk to be a very patriotic person that puts everything on the line for the betterment of the country and he's a very astute businessman, just like Trump is.
