You won't find many on the lots at that price.
Then knock that range in half for cold winter weather, then throw a trailer on it and see what happens. Hello 100 mile range if lucky.
Then the fact that it really isn't a pickup anymore then an El Camino was, the bed is part of the body.
My apologies.
2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV LT Extended Range

It was the extended range with 440 mile estimated range that I test drove and it was every bit a truck.
Towing range will definitely take a hit if towing anything substantial.

Disadvantage is the charging time (~18 hrs at 240V to charge from 0-100%.) and the battery warranty is 8 yr/ 100,000 mile vs Tesla which is 8 yr/ 150,000 mile

Interesting email from Tesla today.

"Get a Free Wrap for Your Cybertruck"
Make It Yours
Order and take delivery of a new Foundation Series Cybertruck by March 31, 2025, to be eligible for a complimentary XPEL vinyl wrap of your choice.* Choose from a wide color pallet including a variety of gloss, matte and metallic finishes to personalize the appearance of your Cybertruck.

Guessing bare stainless steel isn't all that popular?

I get the sense that the stainless steel exoskeleton is short for this world based on vibes from Tesla.

I read the transcript of the Ford earnings call. I'm not happy that they're developing an EREV. It sounds like it will be like the new RAM (EV with gasoline engine to charge). To me, that's a dumb solution to get longer range.

Actually, it's brushed stainless sheet, much like the DeLorean was. Asked my cousin about just that and his reply was, he would never do a full body wrap as he was happy withe the brushed finish. Problem with a full body wrap versus the stock brushed stainless is matching after a fender bender. I really don't know (or care) if Tesla cans the cyber truck but I don't believe they will, especially after driving one and going off road in deep snow with one. Other than the absence of a 'palsy' grip on the passenger's side and the funky steering wheel, it's a nice ride, though not for me.

What I wonder about is, how Elon's new DOGE will impact Tesla sales in general and I noticed the other day that the Tesla dealership just south of the Michigan - Ohio border on US24, closed up shop. Don't know what the deal is and there is no notice on the building that they moved, or anything else. Just no lights and locked doors. Very strange. When they were operating, they had lots of new Teslas in the lot, those are all gone as well.

There goes the gas station model. The stock markets turned negative about the time the news was released. May have just been a coincidence. But Tesla folks in the know seem to be selling off stock.

Tesla CFO, chairwoman, and Elon's brother sold tens of millions worth of TSLA stock
The experts here have told us the gas station model is not needed so it seems prudent not to spend billions of dollars on it.

Telsa sales are stagnant and that may be factoring into it as well. But, EVs are not the "hinge pin" of Tesla so I am going assume there are other factors at play. Telsa's stock price is not justified by the volume or profitability of EVs.

Those without EVs think EVs need “gas stations” and other government provided “infrastructure”. Every day we see more and more evidence of how government bureaucrats believe every problem can be solved with more government.

Tesla sales are stagnating in anticipation of the new Model Y. I know I hesitated to buy in December 2013.

Musk is extremely diversified like most successful business people are. Tesla is but a small part of Elon's business empire though everyone equates him with Tesla. I'm sure his other ventures like Space X and his online platform do extremely well.

I consider Musk a very shrewd dude.
