Have you ever filled out CU’s annual survey? If so you would realize the car gets a demerit if someone can’t find the sound equalizer function in the sound system (was hard to find on December 2023 version, was moved and easier to find in later releases).

My Model Y has has zero issues so far, going on 14 months.

Or I could complain about the times I thought FSD was going off the road. Or when the car panic braked for a vehicle crossing a long distance ahead.

Move someone from Windows to Mac, or Android to iOS, or vise-versa, and you will get lots of “problem reports” just because things are different.
I know, I know……

Look at this way: Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Tesla and fanboys can’t have it both ways.
Tesla markets having lots of electronic, and software, widgets, and bells and whistles.
You can’t cry foul when customers report issues trying to use those, and they are counted as reliably issues. That would be having it both ways.

We’ve been over this before

I think there must be some truth to this. It would be nice if the surveys were constructed in such a way as to segregate out "user error" issues due to unfamiliarity. To take it to the opposite extreme, those with an agenda can easily create a survey which highlights and exaggerates such issues, in the way they form the questions and multiple-choice answers.
I don't know if they changed it , but years back a complaint of say a failed transmission that strands the driver was ranked the same as someone complained about how a piece of snapped in trim plastic that was not fully inserted or popped off because there was no severity ranking.

Pretty easy for a vehicle with a few nit pickey items (paint imperfections/ panel alignment) to look worse than one that needs to have a new transmission or engine installed.

I have to wonder if that showed up on the new V8 Tundras in the initial survey that are now under engine replacement recall.

ps.
I see Tesla has a new procedure for moving cars out of the factory to the parking area before they get shipped, saving many hours of drivers time.
The vehicles FSD themselves ( no driver) to their individual parking spaces. Should save quite a bit of labor cost and be more efficient.

Another tidbit on car sales that was an eye opener, In Mexico they already sell More Chevys that are built in China than they do Chevies built in Mexico's own home market. Thinking of the US home market. The pressure is certainly on. Germany's car makers and workers are Really in a pressure cooker at the moment and the temperature is rising.

For those of you who are not Democrats, and those who have a brain (sometimes mutually exclusive?), do not fall into the climate or the economic traps that have been set.

"The science" of climate change is far from science and has been twisted to push a narrative. Ignore it unless you are an activist. In which case, save some time and follow your faith.

The only quantifiable economics are those that affect you over the next X years you will own a vehicle. You will need to estimate the future cost of fuel (gas, diesel, or electricity) in your area. You will need to estimate the cost of repairs. Insurance premiums. None of those parameters are that difficult to predict within reasonable ranges. The purchase cost is easy, and residual value is easy for hydrocarbon fueled vehicles.

Run the numbers and see what it looks like.

NO ONE is smart enough to address the 'real' cost with tax breaks, subsidies, infrastructure costs etc etc and you do not care. What matters is what is out of your pocket after X years. Then, when it is time to replace what you have, rinse and repeat. Let the market dictate the 'real' costs now and in the future.

You said:

How does one do what is suggested above without “studies”? Is you who lacks comprehension of what you yourself wrote.

I say the only way to tally resource consumption is by the dollar. No biased study necessary.

The dollar paid is the only honest metric, otherwise nothing but the option of the “researcher” is tallied. And every honest observer sees the bias when such studies always produce the results desired by it’s sponsor.

Taxes, smaxes. Everything is twisted by taxes.

I am still confused about studies? I do know I never mentioned them.

My comprehension is just fine. I am quite aware of what I wrote. It simply mentions there are costs that the general populace supply’s even though they may not be a recipient.

You said all the resources have to be accounted for. How do you account for? Easy! You hire a friendly "researcher" to "study" for you.

Our local Chevy dealer has a Chevrolet Silverado LT EV. Test drove it a few miles.
$72K retail. The dealership didn't seem to fond of it as they said it was forced on them to be able to carry V8 trucks.
I liked it. 400 mile rated range.

It does have a Big battery and decent range.

New comparison between General Motors and Tesla:

Tesla is now neck and neck with GM on US based number of employees, and may have even already surpassed GM. According to "Now you Know" YT research Tesla ~ 93000 US employee's to GM's ~81000 More proof needed for sure for validation, but wow.

With Tesla's vertical integration of US made parts, the new tariffs will affect them the least and the profit margins can tolerate trimming, Ford is going to get hit hard on all of their imported parts and already low profit margin per vehicle.

You won't find many on the lots at that price.
Then knock that range in half for cold winter weather, then throw a trailer on it and see what happens. Hello 100 mile range if lucky.
Then the fact that it really isn't a pickup anymore then an El Camino was, the bed is part of the body.

When we are making things up let’s just say “25 miles if lucky”! The range must be only half of what anyone says and I’m getting my information 3rd or 4th hand. So 25 miles it is!

I’ll give $10,000 for a brand new top of the line Silverado RST EV! Come on man, only 25 mile range! I’m being generous.

Then again Chevrolet says 460 miles in the RST. But we all know they are liars!
