I don't get the cultural significance of 155N1ST.

In my case the plate supports a cause, the personalization is no extra cost.

Yes but not running empty and racing ahead then slowing to repeat a number of times.
No cultural significance except the cars top speed capabilities using only first , since it only has the one gear ratio.

Actually a derivative of plates a friend of mine in college days had on his 72 455 HO Trans Am, which said "55N1ST"

Found a pic of his car circa 1981. Talked to him couple years back and he still has the car.

Yeah, that Looks Fast even sitting still.

I have whatever plate numbers the DMV handed me on the EV. Never been anywhere near that fast in the EV, and no plans to either.

A relative got me a consumer report subscription. The latest one lists 2025 updated vehicle brand reliability of 2022-2024 data, plus 2025 where available. Tesla is down at #17, just above Volkswagen, and Jeep.
At least it’s not Rivian at the bottom spot

Was surprised to hear the F-150 Hybrid did so badly.
It was at the absolute bottom of the hybrid list, I actually really like the overall package.
Hope they get the bugs out of it.

You folks who are debating the impact of vehicles on the environment should realize all aspects of production and use should be considered. That includes all the materials required for construction and providing fuel for the vehicles. ( eg. Producing petroleum, metals, plastics or electricity and the materials required for that production.)
Not debating it at all. Nothing but sound bites (which passes for investigative journalism these days) is being said, and said only by those who oppose.

Studies such as you suggest always find in favor of the funding organization.

I say The Dollar is the only honest metric of resource consumption. That every stage of the supply pipeline demands to be paid honest value for their contribution. Ultimately paid by the end user.

If cobalt is useful and available for an acceptable price then cobalt gets used. Complain all you want about how/where the cobalt comes from but it is produced under the established rules just as everything else. Not at all fair to say, “we don’t like how cobalt is produced now that EVs are using it for batteries.”

I was stuck thinking “155 North 1st street”.

Your comments do not show proper comprehension of my post.

Can’t recall mentioning anything about studies.

The Dollar Paid is not a good indicator of materials used. It does not include many tax payer funded benefits that are involved in material production.

How does one do what is suggested above without “studies”? Is you who lacks comprehension of what you yourself wrote.

I say the only way to tally resource consumption is by the dollar. No biased study necessary.

The dollar paid is the only honest metric, otherwise nothing but the option of the “researcher” is tallied. And every honest observer sees the bias when such studies always produce the results desired by it’s sponsor.

Taxes, smaxes. Everything is twisted by taxes.

Have you ever filled out CU’s annual survey? If so you would realize the car gets a demerit if someone can’t find the sound equalizer function in the sound system (was hard to find on December 2023 version, was moved and easier to find in later releases).

My Model Y has has zero issues so far, going on 14 months.

Or I could complain about the times I thought FSD was going off the road. Or when the car panic braked for a vehicle crossing a long distance ahead.

Move someone from Windows to Mac, or Android to iOS, or vise-versa, and you will get lots of “problem reports” just because things are different.

I think there must be some truth to this. It would be nice if the surveys were constructed in such a way as to segregate out "user error" issues due to unfamiliarity. To take it to the opposite extreme, those with an agenda can easily create a survey which highlights and exaggerates such issues, in the way they form the questions and multiple-choice answers.
