Edison motors is doing such, unfortunately because of the bureaucratic idiots that control so much of our transportation. The EPA and the NTSB with many of their completely idiotic and nanny state rules will not allow any out of the box thinking an innovation that does not follow with their desires.
In many states you can not repower a vehicle with any type of alternative engine because to pass and emission/safety inspection the OBD computer has to show the drivetrain is stock and so called working.
Edison Motors is building large vehicles. I said early on how a series hybrid is practical in large vehicles such as locomotives, ships, earth moving equipment.

I see that not much has changed on this thread. People post valid concerns and real world first hand experience and those folks get cut to shreds from the tesla fan boys
Citations please. What "real world first hand experience" has been cited?

And with tradosaurus mostly silent, what "fanboy" are you talking about?

...and Edison Motors is a Canadian outfit as well. It's an interesting concept but I don't see widespread acceptance in the Class 8 market. Maybe for a short haul vocational unit not not for long distance heavy haulage.

I would never and have never disparaged any toaster car or truck owner. Not my thing but may be yours. Like I said previously, my cousin has been pushing me to buy a Cyber Truck to which I told him he has to clear that with my wife, fat chance of that. Could I afford one? Certainly and pay cash but the 'rock of Gibraltar stands in the way...

One thing I'm allergic to is a vehicle payment, always have been.

They are also working on a pickup version.

But there is no sense in responding to you or your posts. You have drunk deeply of the EV koolaid and know all.
Time to unfollow this thread which could have had some potential.

I come to browse once and a while when I am bored. The narrative does not change much.

With the new administration, I am less concerned about EVs being pushed down our throat. I don't hate EVs but they will not work for my needs. Maybe in 5-10 years, when I don't need a real truck, I might look at one for short trips, but we travel a bit (3300 miles in 10 days on our last vacation) and an EV is not going to be convenient for that use.

If fuel gets down to $2.50/gal most people will lose interest. The legacy automakers seem to be pulling back and that matters to buyers who will not buy an EV unless they have a local dealer.

Fuels at around $2.70/ gallon Friday when I filled up.

I paid $1.65 a gallon last friday with my Kroger gas discount....lol Genuine corn squeezed ready to phase separate unleaded regular.

One good thing about corn squeezed gas is, no need to add HEET in the winter now as the corn alcohol takes care of that issue...lol
