It sounds like the servicing dealer is worried about being paid by Kioti. I hope they are not thinking of saying the bill was this much but Kioti only paid this amount. If they try that trick you would have legal grounds to go against the dealer.
They were worried about being paid by Kioti. Maybe they have been bitten by Kioti in the past. All I know is that Kioti was not very helpful to them when it came to my tractor being fixed. That is what I was told and why I did what I did to Kioti N.A.

Tragic process. I purchased a new 1988 LX 5.0l. Dropped a valve at 1500 miles. I had it towed to dealer and said call me when fixed. I was far too upset to speak with anyone about anything. Three weeks later they called it was fixed and I picked up and nothing else said. If I’m understanding correctly it sounds like warranties aren’t really warranties anymore. Maybe a tractor thing. I have CPO Mercedes. I’ve had a few warranty claims and no questions asked. I drop off, get free loaner, and pick up fixed car. Never a question never a dispute.

That is how a warranty is supposed to work. If you read Kioti's Emission warranty that is exactly how it should be, but it isn't in my opinion. I wonder how many others have had to pay for warranty work and would even admit it. I can't possibly be the only one.

Kioti voided my warranty without ever seeing my tractor at a dealer.

It is how warranty works. The problem is there are so many things that the customer can mess up due to their own errors or negligence. Warranty doesn't cover normal wear parts or maintenance parts after the first scheduled service, which in some cases can be as low as 5 hours. As a lawn mower tech I deal with a brand of trimmers that carries a two year manufacturer warranty. And then when you look at the warranty in detail is specifically excludes normal wear parts. That list included spark plug after the initial service, air filter, fuel filter, starter handle, starter rope, starter pulley, starter spring, inner spool, outer spool, bump head, bump knob, and string reel. Then you start asking what they do cover.

I bet if somebody actually dug into the details there is probably a list of things that are excluded from the warranty on automobiles, Contaminated fuel is one example. Or putting gas in a diesel engine, or diesel in a gas engine. Fuel system warranty goes out the window, and in the case of gas in the diesel, possibly the engine warranty goes by-by also.

On average only 1% of all failures are due to failures in manufacturing or workmanship.

Only minor wear items are not covered on vehicle warranties. These are wiper blades, some lightbulbs, some belts, brakes within reason and cause of wear like a stuck caliper slide or piston. Most parts are indeed covered including fluids if there is a leaking problem. I've even seen tires replaced due to improper front end alignment right from the factory. I can't begin to tell you how many warped rotors that I had turned under warranty. You can pull the owners manual on any vehicle to see what is not covered. My Kioti manual does not have a list of warranty items or non warranty items. The sales warranty paperwork does list them all.

Thanks Coobie. Three hours and counting. One thing I have already noticed is that I no longer smell that sweet smell that i used to. Eric told me that Kioti voided his warranty because he installed a hotter thermostat in his tractor. If you saw the video of how bad his tractor was running up in Minnesota's cold weather you can see why he did this. Since then he has not had any running issues from what I understand. He said that Kioti never said anything about the videos in regards to his voided warranty. Regardless of this, the big issue here is Kioti's lack of backing their warranty statements. which are in writing, and paying for the labor up front like the automotive industry does. Another issue is that proprietary OBDII system of theirs. It is a money tree for the dealers just like it was for the automotive field. Nobody can just drive their tractor to the dealer like a car. If you don't have access to a trailer the cost is even higher for repair work. Imagine if I had to pay the dealer to haul my tractor back and forth six times 40 miles. That costs would probably have added another $900.00 to what I already have spent. I think that I should start another post just on warranty work and owner costs just to see if anyone else is experiencing this.

One of the reasons I purchased a 20 ft trailer about 15 years ago after my Kubota dealer charged me $180 bucks for a round trip of 70 miles for warranty work on my Kubota RTV.Good luck to you hope your tractor runs great from now on with no issues.

After borrowing my friend's trailer 5 times I bought my trailer. I had to borrow his again to pick the tractor up on Friday because mine is not registered yet. I want to pull all the wheels off to check the bearings, brakes and shackle bolts etc. before I haul anything on it. The parking lights stopped working. Probably a shorted/broken wire somewhere. I'm at just over 5 hours now and she is still running fine. She started right up this morning first try and it was 16 degrees out. I spent a couple hours moving logs from my front yard over to my wood pile with the forks and put my front chains on. We are getting snow today and tomorrow.

Wow, if that is the case approaching 700 hours and not one single pin is loose. More likely, Kioti was simply looking for BS ways to not honor a warranty helped by6 people like yourself with no clue about what they were watching. As in they must think SPAGHNUM where one can pull out a 1/2" round bit pf brush BY HAND is just like something growing out of hard pan.

And then helped by the moderators saying NEVER poo-popo almighty OEMS and deleting ANY reasonable discussion about one's problems.

It must be something like that, huh?

To say I'd NEVER purchase a Kioti again is an understatement since using a Piranha Tooth Bar voids Kioti's warranty.

When I specifically asked how I had abused my tractor, Tim Fox, the warranty guy refused to offer any explanation. However, in October 2015, my tractor video collection was rather limited, and I suspect that the video in question was my first and only use of the BX expanded cutting edge mounted on the OEM bucket or that I used a box blade to clean up a pad for building. I used the BX expanded cutting edge to run over light brush that is growing out sphagnum soil. The soil is so soft that I can literally pull the brush out by hand and if this is type of work is deemed abusive, then Kioti's are not designed for any kind of bucket work whatsoever as driving into a lose pile of soil is harder on the loader than running the loader on float over brush to see how well the BX-panded cutting edge worked. Moreover, if using a box scraper is deemed abusive, especially over and above using a subsoiler, then again, Kioti's warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on, as both tasks are expected uses within the industry for compact utility tractors.

Anyway, the whole episode of having my entire warranty revoked is super disappointing to me and has totally sucked any joy of ownership of this Kioti tractor out of me.

Meanwhile, one dealer in 2016 told me that they sold five Kioti tractors and all of the customers had mentioned my videos and the Russian importer of Kioti has asked for permission to translate and use my cold-weather starting video.

My trouble here isn't with the Kioti dealers, or with the parent company Daedung, but with the amoral culture at the American importer who without ever seeing my tractor voided my warranty and sucked the joy of ownership right out of the deal. Worse, my videos have helped sell a pile of tractors at this point benefitting the American importer, but because of the American importer's decision to not honor their warranty, they have changed me from a Kioti enthusiast who wanted to help Kioti spread goodwill and confidence in Kioti's products into a realist who wishes he had never purchased a Kioti tractor.

Very unfortunate how this all unfolded. Hope the tractor is fine now. My experience has been pretty good with dealer and Kioti so far. Main seal leaked in first 20 hours, and was picked up, repaired and delivered for no cost. ($5000 in labour costs alone to Kioti) That is how warranty should work? Maybe I got a great dealer. The mechanic did say dealer could lose money on warranty work if they exceed allotted hours for repair. Jim, I hope you get a 'chq in the mail' and tractor continues to run fine.

No that's not how it works. As a consumer, I get to complain until I'm made whole. If my business messes up a then the customer gets to complain about my real estate brokerage until he or she is made whole.
