I just remembered him today. He was a communist, but his WWII books are first rate. Like The Twenty Thousand Thieves is an excellent reading.

I find amusing him leaving the party after seeing communists in action - Hungary 56. Same thing happened to Orwell in Spain.

Oh well, no more big thoughts, but if you are WWII buff, look up this guy in local library, you will enjoy it.
