None...YET!! :)
Hi folks.

Few weeks ago I had a guy dig out a bunch of enormous stumps for me with a JD310. all but one enormous tulip poplar he managed to not only dig out, but push/roll/drag off into a ditch in a back hidden area of my 5 acre plot. Our time was up on the machine and I was left with this humongous tulip poplar stump sitting in the front yard. Its up out of the ground just sitting there ruining an otherwise nice view.

I dont want to rent that JD310 again just for one stump - that's $500.

This root ball is so heavy (lots of clay soil clinging to the underside of it) and massive (easily 30 feet in circumference) it does not even budge a centimeter when I try and yank it with a chain hooked up to my F350 (tires just skid on the asphalt).

I have a big STIHL 660 w/ a 32" bar, but I cant cut it up into smaller bits, at least, not without ruining my Bar and chain.

Cant burn it as it is near another tree - not that this wet thing would burn anyway after the accelerant cooked off.

Only other 'tool' I have is a BX25TBL but this thing outweighs it probably 10x over. I'd probably have to cut it into 8 pieces for this tiny thing to be able to help.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I had nothing this large but I did have a stump that probably weighed 1000 to 1200lbs. I power washed all of the dirt off of it and let it sit for a year after which the loader on my JD2210 could just lift it. I took it out back and buried it.

Wow, that is a huge stump. I have no idea if this suggestion is a good one but could a stump grinder guy come and at least reduce it to a manageable size? Can you dig a hole beside it and push it in and bury it? (I know, why bury what you just dug up but I'm trying to be creative :confused2:)

Most cost effective would be to let it rot and save your money.

Pressure wash it and use your chainsaw

I could dig a hole big enough with the BX no problem, but since I have nothing on site that can even move the beast 1 cm, its a non-starter.

Sounds fun but my house (and windows) are maybe 30' from the stump. My luck i'd throw a massive chunk right through a wall.

Forgot to mention, wife is a photographer and has a studio on site, so customers come and park in our front. Ma'ma says the eyesore has to go soon.:(

Pressure wash it and use your chainsaw

I have an (electric) pressure washer but its prolly way under powered, not to mention I can only reach the perimeter soil. the stump is sitting upright with the majority of the dirt underneath, out of reach for even the best of power washers.
