Engine Warning Light/codes

Hello, I have not found an answer through searching so time to ask.

I have a 09 M108x and I am wanting to know how one goes about finding engines codes?

I currently have an intermittent issue with the engine warning light coming on and the tractor is limited to 1000rpm. Would water in the fuel cause this issue? This happened this past weekend as I was clearing snow at -36 C (windchill). I drive the tractor around town clearing driveways and sidewalks. It has happened at high rpm's and also lower rpm's. It seemed at higher rpm's the engine light would only come on temporarily and slow the tractor for a second. At the lower rpm it would be down on power from 20 seconds to a minute.

I assume it would have thrown a code so I am just trying to find that.

My L3240 did the same thing back in the fall. I changed filter, flushed tank, and added known fresh fuel with Power Service. That was 4 tanks ago and no more problems. Still not completely sure what was going on. Thought it was odd that it would drop to exactly 1000rpm each time it happened.

Your M108X should have a common rail fuel injection system. You will need a dealer to check for codes using their laptop. Some codes will cause the engine to go into a limp mode and bring the engine down to idle. You would not see the engine warning light if it was a fuel supply problem. Had a similar intermittent problem and the tech indicated it was corrosion on the rail pressure sensor terminal plug.
