Engine Rebuild on 1996 Massey Ferguson 253 4x4

Can someone tell me if I have to disassemble the front axel in order to take the oil pan off on a 3cyl perkins diesel?

Is the oil pan holding the motor up? My tractor is a 1996 MF 253 4X4.
