Hey folks great forum.
I have an l5030 with about 1700 hours and I could not be happier. My question is I checked the engine oil temp at the oil filter and it reads 215 degrees. Is this too hot? The tractor is not running hot. Any thoughts

Dont have one, but, normal oil temp is usually 20-40 higher than water temp, so 215f would be good for a 195f thermostat.

At full operating temperature, oil temp will run 190F to 220F, keeping the water condensate out of the oil. 240F is a red flag. Philip.

Thanks for the replies. I was unsure if I had a problem or not.

Use to see 220-230 all the time on a naturally aspirated diesel. I am sure a turboed engine would run even higher temps. If yours is running 215* then its right in line where one would expect it to be.
