When I took delivery of my 3525, the dealer said "ABSOLUTELY NO SYNTHETIC OIL." The owners manual isn't really that explicit about it, IIRC it just says that synthetics have not been tested.

Just wondering which oils you guys are using in your Mahindras, especially the Mahindra built engines.

I think I'm going to use either Mobil Delvac 1300 or Chevron Delo 400, since they carry both at WallyWorld. Shell Rotella T 15W40 is another option as well... Still deciding.

Been using Delo 400 since the 6000 ('02) was new...No issues at all. BobG in VA

Chevron Delo 400 is as good as any, better than most. Been using it for years.

Did your dealer caution you about using synthetic in your Mahindra?

I am planning on using Shell Rotella at 50 hour service.

Sounds like the dealer doesn't know anything about lubricants to me. Other than the higher cost there are no disadvantages to synthetic engine oils (except GP 5 ester based which can tend to cause leaks due to seal incompatibility).

There's nothing wrong with any of the lubricants already mentioned and any of them should work just fine for you. If your looking for better than average then start looking at synthetic blend or full synthetic oils.

I use Rotella in my 4110 and Ford 7.3L and in the old Ford 370 ci gasser I had in my dump truck. Have used Delo 400 once when they were out of Rotella gallons, no discernable difference that I could tell. Any of the 3 brands mentioned should give perfectly good service.

I guess I should have stated it in my first post... I don't intend to run synth oil... I just found it really odd that he would say that... and I was just wondering if other dealers are saying the same thing.

Thanks for the replies!

I would recommend Rotella also. I run it in my Mahindra 2015, my diesel generator, my ford diesel pickup, and my 550 HP caterpillar in my big truck. Never had problem, been using it for years. It meets and exceeds all the requirements.
