Got the 7810 engine all assembled and running, idling well and runs well to about 1400rpm then goes to custard above this(blows bluey white smoke) and misfires, starts excellent and sounds healthy just no at rpms. I have checked the timing gears and rechecked them incase the camshaft was retarded or the like. The engine was stored for almost 20yrs could there be gunk in the injectors? Ideas most appreicated:confused:

Fuel timing is off. If not external to the injection pump, then the internal advance mechanism isn't working.

Was fuel timing, rang the diesel&turbo guru and he suggested 25Deg btdc so reset everything and away! sweet as now. The simms inline pumps according to him, have no internal or external advance.
