Engine Intake Light---urgent.

Hello all,

My engine intake light stays on... I replaced the air filters both of them on my L3010....but the light stays on. I only have @ 60 hrs on the tractor.

What should I do...what could the problem be?

I have a job to do this afternoon and the dealer's technician won't be back until then.

I had the same problem on my L4310. I replaced the filters and the light was still on. Then checked the sensor mounted on the plastic filter case. With the engine not running it was a closed circuit. Took the sensor off. It unscrews. Tapped it lightly on the workbench. Heard a "click" from the sensor. Put it back on the tractor and it's been fine ever since.
Should the sensor be replaced? Don't know - I'd have to test the sensor with a vacuum pump and guage to see if it trips at the proper vacuum level.

I believe I must have the same problem...I will check it out.

If flow was restricted, I am assuming that there would be a
loss in power. Would it also cause the machine to run hot?

My tractor has never run past the 1st "notch", although today
it did "touch it" while I was running on the road in high gear.

I don't think a restricted air intake would cause a hot engine. Just limit the power, RPM and cause black smoke under heavy load conditions.
My temp gauge will go just past the first notch when working the tractor hard at higher RPMs. Otherwise the temp gauge stays below the first notch.

FWIW:
I know of some of those sensors that are designed to be manually reset at the time the filter is changed. The oil monitoring system on my automobile is also that way.
