engine help

hi could any one tell me what yr or what this engine came out of. i got the serial # off of the shelf by the injection pump .its d950 686414 . thanks to any one who can help.

All I had to do was type in the number and add engine number and this is the first thing that popped up.

I found that too.I was trying to see if the specific year of the engine could be found by the serial # I'm trying to find out if this particular engine was an industrial appliction or from a piece of equipment.I've heard that if it was industrial like a generator you'd have to change internal parts to correct the rpm range of the engine.not sure if it's true. Thanks for your input.

thanks alot or the info. im repowering another machine and im just trying to get a little more info before i commit to buying it. one more thing do you know if kubota changed the block or crank ever on the d 950s .it would be going into a 8200 kubota tractor. thanks again for any help.
