Could someone give me some imput on what type of block heater I should go with for my JD 1530. She's going through her first winter with me. The two methods that seem to be the simplest is the oil stick and the magnet block heater. Your advice and imput is greatly appreciated!

Either use a frost plug type or an inline type on the lower rad hoze. The dipstick and magnegtic work best on the store shelf if you live in cold country.

The factory coolant heater was a canister unit that plumbed into the block on the left hand side. These were very efficient and heated quickly. It used two heater hoses that plugged into the fitting where the block drain petcock is and another pipe plug just above and to the rear of the petcock. I think deere still offers a kit for it.
