emojis Don't Respond

How come I can't bring up the "emojis" when posting?

I have trouble with the emojis that appear on my keyboard :'( :-( :-\ . The ones on the Tractorbynet reply screen work well.
It took a long time for me to figure that out.

I'd rather know why this forum can't follow our system choices for background. I have to turn my display down every time I come here.

They're at the top of my reply screen B I the smiley face is not i color , it's a line drawing.
