emissions question

I noticed that for a brief while Massey used a DOC instead of a DPF for tier 4 emissions then they stopped. Seemed like an interesting idea but you don't see it continuing or from any body else. Though that same series now uses DOC and DPF for tier 5
was it problematic?
was it costly?
was it some kind of thing where it was an interim solution and didn't really qualify for 4?

Just curious and the 1760's were pretty nice but ...?

I think some Mahindra use only a DOC.

In general, it is my understanding that DOC isn't effective enough to qualify with higher HP machines.

The problem with most brands is that the sensors are all tied in to the functionality, so a bad sensor makes your tractor worthless until fixed.

NH uses DOC/EGR for the Workmaster series up to 75 hp. I have not had any issues with my Workmaster 75. I bought it new 5 years ago. The 55/65/75 series is made in Turkey by NH & TurkTractor, they are not rebadged LS tractors. I believe the 50/60/70 series is made in India by NH.
