Emissions question 5065e

I have a 5065e , build date Oct. 2012, with no after treatment on exhaust. There is no particulate filter on exhaust. Is that called Tier 2 or Interim Tier 4? I looked at the a Emissions Certificate available on the JD App, searchable by Serial number. It also has a Carburetor Certificate. Neither uses a label like Tier 2 or 4. I wanted to buy a tractor before it got all that stuff on there but I don't know what you call it. As I recall , comparing to some Kubota's, Kubota seemed to be ahead of Deere in complying with new emissions standards, which for me was a minus. Not knocking Kubota by any means but I want simplicity. I think I got it with my 2012 5065 e with 9f/3r sync shuttle and MFWD. I could not be more pleased so far. Just trying to maintain 80 acre hunting and timber tract. I usually by things and keep them forever.

We had a 5065e with the 553 loader for a year before we upgraded to my 5083e. The 5065e is an excellent machine and I know you will love it. The 2012 5065's are tier 3 emissions. When you start yours does it sit there and blow white smoke till it warms up?

The only time I get any white smoke is when it is cold and immediately upon start up and only for a few seconds, which I understand is normal. Does your 5083 do that ? Is the 5083 Tier 3 as well? I am under impression that the 5085 replaced the 5083 and perhaps the 5085 is Tier 4 with after exhaust treatment like a particulate filter.

What did it cost you to upgrade? Did you get the Power Reverser transmission? I believe the wet clutch is a superior design but for my needs the dry clutch 9F /3R was the best value . I would like to get a 5083e with PR but I don't need a cab. I would be interested to know if you traded in your 5065 e or sold it outright and how much the upgrade cost you and what you got. Am I correct in assuming the 5083 is not available new anymore ?

The 5083 is tier 3 like the 5065. We traded 5065 for the 5083 and yes the 5085 is tier 4. The 5083 is also discontinued

I just got a quote on a 5075E cab built in February 2014 it is still tier 3 on particulate filter yet.

That is great if you want to avoid the expense and maintenance hassles of the filter. I think my dealer said the filter was expensive but not required to be replaced until 2000 hours. I was under the impression that tractors built in 2014 had to comply with Tier 4 requirements that included the exhaust filter. When I was comparing Kubota to Deere, Kubota seemed to be ahead of Deere which to me was not attractive . I am not against the environment, but for the 100 hrs a year I will put on my tractor I just don't want more complexity. Get it while you can

This is correct. I went back and forth and back again with numerous dealers to make sure my Sept 2013 5075E open station was not Tier IV.

Right now, 75hp is the cut off on the current regulations, as I understand it. So the JD 75hp and under 3-cyl models continue to stay clear of needing to be Tier IV compliant… thankfully.
