email replies to posts

Without having changed any of the settings in my "Control Panel" options, I suddenly stopped receiving emailed copies of replies to notes I post.

I first noticed this yesterday, but hadn't posted any notes in the previous week or so. The only correlation I can think of is that this behavior changed at around the time I received my TBN "Muhammad-signed" hat, but my experience with computers and hats makes me think this is probably not diagnostically significant. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Everything still looks right in the Control Panel settings, and I think I'm getting all my other email so I don't think the problem is on this end. I've learned never to be too certain about the cause of Internet Email problems, however, so anything is possible. /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

Each message I send has the "Email all replies to my real email address" box automatically checked, as I believe it should be and always has been.

Any help appreciated.

Well, they're working properly, so I'm wondering if maybe your ISP has blocked the messages for some reason?

Thanks Muhammad. I'll call them and ask. Can't imagine why they would have done that.. there certainly isn't a high enough volume that it would trigger a spam filter or something similar.

Hi Muhammad,

I sent a note to my ISP asking if they could look into why I'm not getting the email from tractorbynet, and I got the following in reply.

I have no idea if this person is correct. This stuff is over my head. What do you think?

Bob,

There does appear to something amiss with tractorbynet.com's mail setup.

Send this link to them:
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=tractorbynet.com

and they will be able to see the problem and have their admins fix it.

Is nobody else having this problem of not receiving emails when somebody replies to a post? If not, then it must be on my end, as Muhammad suggested. Maybe I'll have to try another ISP. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Trev, I have been getting email replies as late as last Friday. I "turned off" the replies to those threads, because as it turns out, I am getting bitten by this site and its forums. My wife has concerns.........

We haven't had any other reports of this problem, and they always work for me and others here... all e-mails are going out, for sure.

Maybe switch your account e-mail address to another account (even a web-based), to test it?

I received just one reply, the very first one, to my post about honeybees swarming. I know there were several others but didn't get them. I did not get the reply to myself.
Haven't touched my setting in months.

I replied to your email privately, before noticing it was an actual reply to a posting I made here. So, I guess changing ISPs did the trick!

I just signed up for the archive, so don't know if I should have gotten one yet.. but I did get the reply to my post here.. so I guess the problem is clearly on my other ISPs system.

Just wanted to let you know that all seems to working correctly now.. with both of my accounts. I'm receiving replies to messages and also the daily archives.

Whatever magic you worked, it did the trick! Now, can you stop one of our cats from sharpening his claws on our doorframe?? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
