A couple of days back I received a PM from Junkman telling me that any and all email that he sent to me was being bounced back to him undelivered. I think at 1st he must have thought that I put him on a list blocking his email which wasn't the case. Junk can receive email sent from me but anything he sends never reaches me. I have since contacted my ISP provider but nothing has changed so far. I have never had any other problems of this nature that I am aware of. I am including the error messages that Junkman receives hoping that one of you grues might have an answer for me.

Is it just email that junk 'created', or has he also tried to do a 'reply'?

Soundguy all of my email is being received by Junk, however I am not getting any from him. No one else that I am aware of seems to be affected by this glitch.

That's what I was thinking... He should send junkman an e-mail, then junkman should try to reply to it and see what happens.

I get that same kind of error message occasionally when sending e-mails to several different addresses that I know are good. I've just always assumed it was because the recipient's mailbox was full or his ISP had a problem, and of course that's just a wild guess since I have no idea how or why these computers work. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

See 451 Name Server Timeout for information about a problem that some folks have had.

You may want to pass the URL above along to the support dept. at your ISP. This is a known conflict between a couple of mail programs and there is a "fix" on that website for it.

I have sent him back his test messages and they also bounce. This afternoon he supplied me with another e mail address and that e mail went through to him and back to me when he replied. I think Mike is just trying to break up the romance that his daughter and I are having... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

At this point I'm throughly confused to say the least. Who said email isn't rocket science?

I did send an email to my ISP provider and ipnoc@savvis.net explaining the bounced emails but I have heard nothing back from either.

The other e-mail address works. That tells you there is probably a problem with your ISP and name resolution somewhere. I see you've contacted your ISP. That's the way to go.

I know if I tried that with my ISP, "concast"= comcast it would never be fixed since they have no clue. I was having email problems and they said it was my firewall, then it was my anti-virus program, then my emails were causingit....I am just saying to not put too much faith in ISP help desks. Mine is the no help, help desk!

I use a local ISP with local people. They are very helpful and reliable.

Quite by accident, we figured out what is wrong, but don't know how to fix it. My e mail address is at Earthlink, and my outgoing e mail server is Charter. I have Charter High Speed Internet service, along with Earthlink dial up. The reason for the redundant services is that the Charter has been known to go down for a day or more and with the Earthlink dial up system, at least I can get back on. I have had the Earthlink e mail address for many years and don't want to switch to a Charter address. This is the way that Charter originally set up the Service in this area because a Charter address wasn't available at the time. Does anyone know a "work around" for this problem. I believe that Mike's (PineRidge) IP is comparing my outgoing mail settings with my e mail address and bouncing it. I have changed my settings to reflect both Charter & Earthlink, and he was able to get e mail from me. The problem with this is that I can either send or receive, but can't do both with the settings matching.
