If I've received one of these emails in the past few days, I've received a dozen. No exaggeration, 3 or 4 already today. Seem phishy to me -I don't even use Passport- but quick as I delete 'em, another two come to the funeral. What gives? Anybody else getting these lately or am I 'special'?

There is a LOT of this type of garbage floating around. There isn't a day that passes that someone doesn't try to either jump our PayPal or eBay password to gain control of the accounts.

I've seen lots of scammed letters that look pretty darned authentic.

Be careful out there.....

Hi Mike,

Yes, I know there is no shortage of spoofs, but curious if others had seen a resurgence of these Passport password emails lately. They are exactly like the 'original' early Passport vulnerability of years ago that [supposedly] Uncle Softie 'fixed', so I was just wondering if ANOTHER similar Passport security hole had recently been identified by crackers. No worries here, I delete never click, and MS never had any sensitive info from me. Just surprised at the sheer number of emails (still getting 'em :(). Thanks.

I have not received such an e-mail, but I did notice a news article yesterday about Microsoft coming out with a bunch of new security updates for Windows and sure enough I downloaded 8 new updates.

I recieved one last week from the "First Bank of Fifth". It asked me to click a link and update my account information.

Any of you are welcome to send me cash or checks for my First Church of the Rotary Cutter.
