Mf 1428v starts but when I put it in gear it dies. Sounds like an electrical interlocking to me. Any suggestions?

Sounds like that safety switch under the seat.

Yes, You could just put a jumper wire on it and be done with it.

I concur---i've had same problem when very cold.

The dealer told me the seat gets cold and less pliable, therefore the switch doesn't close when you're on the seat. Eat beans to warm the seat up, and you should be fine.
Because my seat flops and spins to use the backhoe, my wires got mangled. I defeated the switch and tucked the wires into a safe spot, never once have I missed having that switch in my life.

I agree it's the seat switch. Where can I buy a replacement?
