I have a GF1800 mower with about 450 hours on it. Recently the electrical light came on and continues to stay lit. No noticeable problems with the engine idling or running under power (including the grass catcher).

The manual says little about the light in troubleshooting....can any of you suggest a cause or some diagnostics to start with? The battery is relatively new (1 year old)

Thanks

I had a similar problem except my lights stopped working and all the fuses were OK. The tractor started and ran. I don't know if your starter switch controls the lights on your tractor, but mine does and it was faulty.

I took a volt meter to check for current from the switch to the lights and there was none. In your case you may have a loose wire that touches so that the switch is by-passed, instead of running through it. Could be an easy fix.
