no do not "COIL" the wires this will create more of a magnetic field which is your issue, this is how a "Speaker" is made to work the COIL creates a magnetic field and pulls on the cone making noise.

Twist the wires, (of more of a braid type twist) braid the two wires and twist them like a bread wrapper. this is the output wires to the bulb sockets, not the incoming AC wires.

This is a hit and miss thing...i have seen some florescent lights create this noise and others not do it....

In my own kitchen i had the noise issues, so i replaced all the ballast with electronic t8 ballast and i swapped the T12 lamps for T8 lamps (they fit in the same sockets). Worked like a charm, No more static, AND now i don't have to worry about the fact that the t12 lamps will not be in production starting next year...


oh, by the way. if you have T12 lights...best stock up on lamps.

BTW. the reason i didnt replace the entire fixture is these had leaded glass designs on them...and there is no way i could find anything that looks this nice made today.
