Electrical help on my 04' 4010

I am new to this forum, and would like some help. I bought a used 4010 with a FEL, come to find out i know person that owned the tractor before the person I bought it from, with that being said, the person I bought it from did not tell me about an electrical issue the tractor has, I later found out that when he purchased the tractor , the person he bought it from told him there was an issue with the lights but they could not figure it out and it was bought as is. Well thats beside the point, the issue I have is when i turn the lights on for no more than 10 to 15 sec. it drains the battery and will not start and have to jump it off. As long as I do not use the lights everything works perfect, but there may be a time that an emergency arises and I really need the lights and will not be able to use them. I know there is a short somewhere, just thought someone on here has had this problem and could save me alot of time and $$ by telling me the right place to start looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. The guy I bought it from is a Preacher for 25 yrs, and the guy that he bought from is a used tractor salesman for 40 yrs, who would have thought the salesman would be the honest one.

Did someone put a jumper in place of a fuse? If there is a short, then the fuse should blow.

Look for the fuse that isn't blowing, and put in a jumper that is made up of a couple wires and a 12v light bulb. If there is any short, the bulb will light and you can then attempt to trace the wires to find out just where it might be grounding the circuit.

Also, you may find picking up a CD or paper cover tech manual from eBay or the Deere dealer will be the best $50-100 investment for other things that might happen.
