( Has anyone ever used an electric wood splitter? I have been reserching them and found one that will split a 20"long X 18"dia. log and they claim in the specs that it cycles in 5-8 seconds. Hard to believe but I don't know how they could claim that if it will not do it. )
Well, there is wood and then there is wood. It may split a chunk that size if it is clear grain pine but totally refuse on something much smaller, harder and with a knot. Cycle time leads me to believe it may be an inertia splitter (driven by a flywheel). I haven't seen any type of electric that was worth even firing up.
