Saw this at the Fannin County Fair in Texas. It is the first one I have seen.

No, it was someone's homemade job. I thought it was interesting. The owner was not around or I would have gotten more information.
I doubt it was for much more than show.

I continue to be amazed by what creative people with free time on their hands can accomplish.

Wow! That's neat. I've been building EV's for a year now. I'm trying to save some $ to convert my Case 446 garden tractor

Any idea as to what sort of motor the builder used?

Steve

Looks like a Warp 9, series wound DC.

I just went and looked at my 9N, judging from the pic, it might be a Warp 11

Thanks for the info. My knowledge of EV motors is nil. I Googled "Warp motors" and came up with 439,000 hits. Wow!

I suspect the answer would depend on how the tractor is being used, but could you "guesstimate" how long the tractor could be run before recharging?

Looks like 6 lead acid batteries, 72volts. Could be 200-250 ah ( I'm really guessing here!). With moderate load, say a 4 foot finish mower, I would guess an hour maybe 2.

That's the link to the school that built it. They must, and should be proud of their job.
