Can anyone recommend a site where I can learn more about trying to do an electric/battery conversion of a gas engine powered DRI Powerwagon? Mine has a Briggs and Stratton Quantum gasoline engine with 6.275 ft lbs of torque on it, but at 6,500 feet in altitude neither the regular or the high altitude carb jet seems to work. The unit has cement in it for ballast that could easily be replaced with a battery and I have a friend who can weld. I just need to understand more about electric motor size and battery systems.

Here is a link to the Powerwagon I am talking about:

DR Powerwagon: Pro Package. 6.75 FPT Briggs Engine, Self-Propelled

Good tip, thanks. Interesting reading about your electric Polaris, too. I am on my second Polaris, first was not fuel injected. Second one is, but after 4 years it is getting annoying to keep it running.
