Under the seat of the BX there is both a male and female exposed connection. The female has power to it. Is the male a ground?

I want to hook up one or two Plug-ins (cigarette light type) for portable work lights and such.

Thanks
Guy

It is a ground in the sense that it goes to a non existent switch to turn on a light on the dashboard. It isn't used on the BX tractor, but the harness is the same for other Kubota items. Just tape it off and forget about it. It, like your appendix, serves no useful purpose. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But Can I use the power connection to hook up my plug-ins? And if the other IS grounded, it would just make a nice clean install. ?

The powered wire is for an auxiliary light or any thing else that you want it for as long as it doesn't draw more than 15 amps. The wire that has no power to it, can not be used at all. You can ground to any metal on the tractor, so a ground isn't much of a concern for location....

On my BX1800 I used the two wires for my lights. I didn't check with a meter to see if it was grounded, just assumed. They worked fine all last Winter. Now Junkman has me wondering so I will have to go out and check it.

You can see in this photo my hookeups. I ended up using a trailer plug set up instead of the cigarette lighter plug, but I am not using for anything but lights.

I used those 2 wires with a inline switch and blow a fuse when I turned the switch on. Like junkman said use the hot wire and ground to tractor and it works ok

My BX2200 is a coupla years old - I used the two wires under the seat, one is hot, the other is ground - I connected them to a cigarette lighter socket and use it to power my magnetic work light and sprayer, but not at the same time.
