The large operations I've seen that are electric use big generators connected to the combines via power cables...(of course the generators run on NG or diesel etc...!)

I’m not as opposed as some. Yet you would think that JD would have some clue about the needs of their biggest customers.

I think those are reasonable questions until answers/solutions are on hand life goes on.

It may be a hoax but what isn't a hoax is a lot of large power companies commitments to retire all of their coal plants within the next 8 years. So, Wind, Solar for you, unless you are Michigan and fortunate enough to live in the Cook nuclear service territory. It's going to get interesting.

You guys aren't suggesting that the media would call something misinformation when it is actually legitimate are you?

Care to provide a substantiating link? I know I'd like to see that.
Do a search for "John Deere Swarm concept"...the video below shows a grid connected cable but somewhere I saw a generator rig...may not have been Deere...

Come on..thats a fake story. It was making its way around the net a few years ago. John deere even weighed in on it. All fake. Please check sources before spreading this junk.

John Deere Responds

We reached out to a company spokesperson for John Deere to ask about the viral post. By email, they told us, “John Deere does not have a partner farm program.” They also said that they “never called farmers to ask that they switch to electric tractors by 2023.” Perhaps most important, the spokesperson said that the company “has no plans for battery operated/electric large tractors and combines.” In other words, the viral story appeared to not even be a possibility in reality.
Additionally, while we were told that the company does have some long-term business goals that involve offering a line of small electric tractors and other compact equipment by 2026, large tractors and combines for farms are not part of these plans.
