Elec. motor for snow blower chute!!!

Hi every one: Have a 3ph sn blower it has a hand crank for the chute. I got 4 diffrent windshield wiper motors 2 s10 1ford 1mopar that are just laying around was going to make one of them work for me but can't seem to be able to rev the motor. Anybody know of a brand of wiper motor that will rev or can make one of these motors work. Thanks for any replys.

Most windshield wiper motors have a park function. You have to either bypass that or rewire it so it won't park.

The ones I have come accross only go in one direction and use the chassis as ground. If you isolate the motor electrically, then they reverse if you reverse the voltage.
In my case the park switch was easy to bypass at the wiring harness.

I believe some folk here have used older power window motors, which can reverse easily. New power window motors are probably too small for this.

You should be able to reverse any of them. Remove the ground strap that goes to a mounting bolt at the rubber insulator. there is a ground connection on the motor circuit itself that you use. then you just reverse the polarity with a double ploe double throw switch available almost anywhere.
I used a '93 pontiac wiper motor and a DP/DT rocker style switch from Radio shack. Works a dream. See current post in Yanmar forum.
