Has anyone tried an internet bussiness with ebay. They called me and wanted me to start an account with them. They said that you don't have spend any money on supply. You just pay a percentage of what you make. Does anyone do this here. There is already products on line that you sell? I don't understand how you make money on this.

I'd recommend you research this thoroughly before getting involved. Seems to me that if they were legit, they'd be selling their stuff themselves and keep all the money instead of "sharing" it with you.

Similar sounding SCAM

I've been selling on eBay since 1997 with current feedback of well over 21,000. I don't think eBay has ever recruited PowerSellers. If you got a call from someone representing eBay be very weary of it.

I have been selling on ebay since 1998. What service were they talking about. A regular ebay account or was it by chance a ProStores account. The ProStore is a internet store business model and has nothing to do with the ebay auctions/store portion of their business. It is very possible that the call you got was really from ebay as they do telamarket the ProStores. Avoid the ProStores, there are much more economical way's to open a online store like ValueWeb.

To continue my first post about being called and the reason I was called is because I registered on the ebay site. I have now got a email saying I owed a account fee of $26. I contacted ebay on their site and asked them why I was getting a bill for registering. I forwarded the email to them and they said they would investagate it, that email was fake.

I think I've gotten one of those fake eBay bills, too. I get so much of that trolling crap it's hard to remember it all. In fact, I'm so used to simply deleting stuff like that that I almost deleted some legitimate e-mail I got from my own credit card company. I finally joined the 20th century (still working toward the 21st) and set up on-line bill paying. When they responded with e-mail I almost deleted it as junk.

Your $26. eBay bill was a fake.

I wish our monthly eBay bill was so small, unfortunately our yearly fee buys someone at eBay a real nice automobile. imagine that!

Pineridge: at least you are able to reach a huge customer base from you're home and small shop imigine how much sq footage you would need to support that many walk in customers ;) (or worse imigine the water bill from all the customer flushing giog on  :D ) hahah I been getting a few things as needed from e-bay simply as the local stores here don't have what I want @ a price I can afford. I was only thinking of starting a ebay bussiness but with all the idenity theft and thieves on the internet I'm leery about the whole thing.

I just learned today that there is a bill in congress that was suggested by the IRS to require eBay to get sellers Social Security numbers for tax purposes. It appears that the government now wants to have a piece of the action also. Haven't heard about it before, nor do I know anything more about it at this point. It might still be pending. If there is a way to reach into your pocket, politicians will find it:rolleyes: .

Spiker nice of you to ask. It actually took us two weeks of non-stop work but we finally finished the store. The response from shoppers and other store dealers has been very, very positive. Here's a couple of random shots. If you're in the area of Hartville Market Please please stop by and see Rose and I. We're in the north wing booths 169, 170, & 174 Monday, Thursday., & Saturdays. The last picture is an aerial shot of the building (It's huge) and the crowds that it generates.

BTW: There are over 125 indoor shops within the Hartville Market Place, not to mention the outside vendors.

We're already talking about possibly opening a second store in Sugarcreek, Ohio. :)

Good Luck,

Thanks John! It was nice to get in before Christmas.

There's normally a waiting list but when they saw what we had to offer they shuffled us right in. The idea being is to find vendors that have unique goods that are out of the ordinary, and we certainly fit the bill there. :)
