Eaton Fuller 7 speed transmission

I found a Freightliner tandem chassis speced the way I want EXCEPT it has this 7 speed.
I don’t want to end up hating it because of the transmission.
REALLY want an automatic, but super tough to find.

Got me curious, looks like the T14607B is fully synchronized single range and was used in school bus applications.

I was in a 6 speed Mack one time, 5 speed in reverse.

We had some old Ruan DCF400 Internationals back in the 70s that had Spicer 4X4s. The guys that knew how to drive them, loved them, the ones that didn't, not so much. I spent many hour training drivers how to shift them, some got it, some didn't. Personally, my favorite was always the RTO12513/14613 Road Ranger. Second favorite was the Spicer 12 speed, air shift transmission. 4 Speed main box with a 3 speed air shift auxiliary box, all in one big unit. Shift and twist the knob, easy peasy.
