I used ametcalf's idea for a hitch to go on the bucket. Got the step bumper reciever at HF with a 20% off coupon. Cost with tax $14.41. Drilled one hole in the bucket lip. Other side attaches in a toothbar hole that was already there so it is slightly off center. Two bolts at $.54 each, four washers at $.20 each, two wingnuts at $1.96 each, and ruined one $8.00 drill bit. Total cost $28.21 not counting the hitch and ball which I already had.

With this setup I can hook up to and move trailers with little trouble. Usually takes one trip getting off to see how close I am to hitch, then another to make sure it is picked up on the ball. Loosen two wingnuts and it is off.

Very handy. Only one of the ideas I have picked up on this forum.

I think that's a great deal for that hitch, even has the break away loops. And with the wide plate it spreads the load out nicely for a loader bucket.

But why don't you want it on the top of the bucket? You have the flat top, that way you could leave it on all the time, maybe use it for other things.
I have never had to get off to see hitch/coupler with my top mount.

That is the only slight disadvantage, but has never stopped me from using mine. they make drop down inserts now of any length.

I have scuffed the ground with the bottom of the bucket when trying to keep a low trailer level, but no big deal.

Just use the bucket to raise the trailer (and block it) enough to get the ball under...
Why is it on the front instead of the 3pth? (or bolted to your favorite implement)

Been busy, no time to reply, but...

I found that I can curl the bucket back and see the ball to hook up to one of my trailers. And one of the places I need to back the longer trailer in has a sloped entry and the back would hit the concrete it the reciever was on top of the bucket.

When I get time I may drill the holes so I can attacher it on the top anyway.
