I have a John Deere belt drive tiller, a 30" model. I would like to be able to use it with my 4x4 S370.

I have thought about adding two routing/idler pulleys- like on a belt drive belly mower that uses a pulley driven on the rear pto- and driving it off my rear pto.

The other thought was to add the "engine pto"- ie the pulley that drives off your crank, but that will still require a set of idlers.

I have the parts ordered for my PTO reverser build. Once I get my gear set, bearings, and a replacement boring head, I will be finishing my PTO reverser, and then I need to get this tiller usable.

The box I've been working on will end up bolting up like an OEM Box, and will produce a near perfect 539.xx rpm PTO in the clockwise direction.

I proof of concepted it with a set of used gears, and it ran great. Someone walked off with the gears, my boring head, and a Snap On FM70, so that has stalled things.

When the new gears and head arrive, it is off to the races, but I'm wondering if anyone else has adapted belt drive implements, even the odd belly mower to a Satoh.

I love these tractors.
