"It seems that every owner at some time or another is going to have trouble with the hydrostatic transmission safety circuit, which is a switch on the dash, a bunch of relays and a hydraulic solenoid valve that disables transmission operation. From reading here, it seems that only myself and 1 other person got the safety circuit working when it went on the blink and it appears everyone else has done (potentially unneeded) very expensive repairs to the hydrostatic drive. The first thing I would recommend for any new owner to do is set up a "manual override" for the safety circuit or even bypass (disconnect) the safety solenoid completely. Its only purpose on life is to prevent you from starting the machine with your foot on the hydro pedal and I doubt anyone would do that twice without the safety circuit."

I'm new here, and hope someone can help with this issue... Where can I find more information on exactly how to set up the manual override? We have a 2002 EF300. Engine starts and runs fine, but the green button does not light up and will not engage the drive. Thank you in advance for your help.

I just bought an EF3. I found a place in Ohio that I got cylinder rebuild kit as well as some parts for the backhoe valve bank. Still looking for a parts manual.

westcliffe01:I am new to this site as I have just purchased a 2003 Bobcat B200. I have read with interest your advice to others and was hoping that you might be able to guide me as I sort out the machine. There are 'issues'. Among others, but as a starting point, like you , my unit has a broken hand brake cable, missing lens cover on instrument cover, missing left side engine panel, air intake hose, ect. Is there away to communicate with more efficiently than through this forum? Thank you for your anticipated advice.

Welcome to the forum. You can send him a personal message through this forum. As you personal message him, you can exchange phone numbers. I did that with a guy looking for allis Chalmers parts. I had a line on a couple ag salvage yards and he called me and I passed the info on to him. Hope this helps

How did you bypass the safety switch to transmission?

I had to replace the main drive pump this year and had a verry hard time finding parts. and had to order from overseas. the cost of the new pump was 4000.00 and a rebuild kit was 2200.00 so i rebuild it and still waited 2 months for the parts. This is a verry good backhoe but i wish i had gotten a differant brand now. oh yea i also had to reapair a broken hydraulic cylinder and couldnt find an exact match from Bobcat so they had to build me one. so now im always worried about whats next.
This is 2024 so I don’t know if you’ll get this but we are looking for an earthforce B200, hydraulic cylinder seal kit and can’t get it from bobcat anymore. How did they rebuild you a seal. That would worth a try. It was bobcat who did that for you ? I’m so sorry we bought the earth force. I think it is going to the grave yard cuz you can’t find parts anywhere. If you know of somewhere please let me know. Also will kabota part work for A earth force.

Since you're new to TBN, you can look up a TBN member by clicking on his name. 8404's most recent post here was 10 years ago, so good luck.

If you take the cylinder to a hydraulic shop they should be able to match up your seals and fix you up
