What is wrong with the engine that you have to replace? There might be parts that you could have it repaired for less money....The ST40 looks like a great tractor.

The Massey Massey Ferguson 1440 is the same tractor, and you might be able to find parts through a Massey Dealership, or even an engine.
Apparently engine oil leaked out very quickly somewhere at the rear of engine. I didn't notice and the engine ran tight. I haven't tore it apart yet , but i think the damage is to the bottem end, crankshaft and bearings. At this point I 'm just trying to see what would be available( complete engine, short block or just parts) I'll have to get it apart . And yes this is a very nice tractor
