Dynamo wiring for a Kubota B7100D

Hi, I'm a brand new member and haven't learned all the forum functions. My question is that my dynamo on my Kubota B7100D wore out and has metal chips in it. I bought a replacement one, but now that i have the old one off i have noticed that they are different. Everything is exactly the same the shape and mounting, but this new one has 3 wires (yellow, white, and brown) and my old one has just 2 wires (both gray). Now, I'm in a dilemma, i don't know which wires to hook where. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I know polarity does not matter withe dynamo connection but my replacement also had two grey wires.

I have a B7100 service manual as well as an owners manual for B7100 HST, each with wiring diagrams. I can email them to you if you think that would help.

Thanks, but i have the wiring diagram, it shows 2 gray wires just like the old dynamo that i removed, however the replacement one has 3 wires. I've since have been able to disassemble the old one, it looks like if i can find the 2 bearings somewhere, i should be able to just replace those and still use the old one. Just keep the new one for the next time. thanks all

I think one of those wires is a center tap or a common for two windings. If I remember correctly each leg was fed into half a full wave bridge rectifier and that way you could get doiuble the charge rate. Try mounting and see what the voltage between the three. You should see I combination with a higher one and the voltage between either of those two and the third should be lower.

On a lot of small equipment with magnetos and such one winding charges the battery and the other is just ac to run lights or an electric clutch.
