My tilt steering seems to have loosened up over night. The steering wheel is now straight up and down. The lever seems to move OK, but the steering wheel will not lock or stay in the tilted position. Does it need a shot of oil or adjustment? Ideas?

Read this thread in the New Holland forums. The tractor is not exactly the same as yours, but the problem is similar. In that thread the steering column will not tilt. Your problem is the tiny pin that operates the shock is stuck in the down position, and it won't loosen by itself. You have to work it loose and get it freed up. When it is stuck down, the lever does nothing. Don't be surprised if you cannot get the pin unstuck and have to replace the shock.

AWESOME! Not the pin being stuck, but the info.

thanks!

Im hoping that since I caught it literally overnight, its unstickable, but we will see. There was an awful lot of debris in there.
