DX40 & TC40? How much are they alike?

I just purchased a used TC40D a week ago. I have a Case IH dealer in town. Closest NH dealer about 30 miles away. Can I use a lot of the same parts? I noticed a lot of things very similiar on the two. It looks like only the color is different and some cosmetic things.

They are the same. Check out their spec sheets on either website (they are the same too ).

There are some OPTIONAL features on the New Holland that are not available on the Farmall. But if both tractors are configured the same, then the differences are pretty much limited to cosmetics.

Thanks, you guys saved me some money! I can see why the New Holland dealer didn't tell me. He wanted me to come back and give him business, but the Case IH dealer in town wasn't sure about the parts until I brought in a oil filter and wanted him to compare the two. I will be getting most of my filters here in town from them. Hope I dont need more than regular maintenance items.

when i was looking for my CUT i had a NH dealer tell me that CNH puts more incentives toward the NH CUT lines. On the flip side they put more incentives toward CaseIH big tractors. Because of that your likely to find a TC cheeper than a DX although they roll off the same line.

When I was deciding between the DX and TC lines, the incentives were very similar. It came down to "who is the better dealer?", and Case won in my area.
I have heard that Case fluid requirements differ from NH, but my tractor hasn't been delivered so I don't know for certain.

When I go into my Case dealer for filters for my DX35, sometimes he gives me NH filters and sometimes Case. He uses them interchangeably.

I had the same problem with my NH dealer closing. I pass within a 1/4 mi. of the Case dealer everyday. I went in asking for filters for my TC40 knowing it was the same thing as a DX40. Parts guy tells me that I cant get NH parts there becuse he can't look them up. I think that he was just being hard-headed. Now I simply ask for DX 40 parts and make no mention that they will go on a blue tractor. Everything works fine this way. I have gotten remotes and filters this way.
BTW: The availability of supersteer is the only difference that I know of between Red and Blue.

The lights.... If you like ugly lights, you won't like the DX.
