Durability - Speeco PHDs?

I'm looking to purchase a PTO-driven PHD for my JD4600 very soon. I am going to use it to drill posts for my perimeter fence at my house. Fleet Farm and TSC both sell the Speeco brand of PHD. Any comments on durability, etc.?

I can't speak for their PHD's but I have a Speeco log splitter that I'm very happy with. Actually, the one I purchased was listed as a New Holland product. If they'll put their name on it, I'm going to assume it's of decent quality.

I use a Speeco, its about 5 years old, never had a problem with it, mostly use it with a 12" auger bit for trees, and a 9" bit for posts. The soil here is all clay and it works well. The cutting tip of the bit can get clogged with grass, it won't cut if there is grass wrapped around the tip so it would help if you mowed the area to get rid of tall grass before drilling. I don't know that I would use a Speeco if I was a fence contractor drilling holes every day all day, but for a home user who drills a few dozen to a couple hundred holes a year, the value is there and the price is low.

I've had one for 3 years, but only maybe a hundred holes so far. It works great for me.

Great - thanks for the feedback. I think it will serve my purposes nicely. As for the size of the augers, 9" and 12" seem to be the best sizes - right?
