dumb question regarding remote hydraulic

Dumb question here.

I had a remote hydraulic installed on my kubota. I just assumed was the same type I've always used the pioneer John deere. HOwever on the valve, there no collar to lock the connector in and then release to remove:






What heck am I missing here? any ideas? How can there not be a collar to release and lock the hydraulic coupling on the hose?

Not sure but I think the casting "is the collar" or the collar is contained in the casting. I'm thinking that the tip can just be pushed into the coupler to engage.

thanks! I believe you are correct....but then do I have the right connector on my hose? is there a difference between this ball type i have and the poppet style? I thought they were suppose to be interchangeable

The male tip looks more like the old John Deere style coupler prior to "John Deere/Pioneer".

just get one of the new style male pioneer connectors and put it on your hose you will be all set

Correct. The sleeve is fastened to the block, so you push in to connect and pull out to disconnect.
The coupler on your tractor (in the grey block) looks like this left one and you need the right one on the end of your hose:

the on in your picture is the old style i think they are a 5060 pioneer, ih, jd, all had their own versions - the newer style are iso connectors and are now standard iso ag couplers, you can get ends to go on your hose or buy adapters to go from the port on the tractor to your hose, whatever you choose to do.

Im not a fan of this style of connector because they always leak out a bunch of oil every time you unhook them. Keep a rag handy. You push them in to engage, push then pull to disengage.

Compact and convenient. Dust and dirt magnets. Keep the dust covers on to save yourself future grief. Label your hoses L and R.

That's the old style Deere connector. Go to TSC and get you some Pioneer couplers and replace what you have.
