Dumb hydraulic questions.

What happens if you un-hook your loader and hook up the hydraulic lines wrong? (mix the colors up) I'm assuming it would just mess up the controls of the loader. I am replacing hydraulic lines on my dads B7800 would it be the end of the world if water got in as they are exposed while i wait on new lines.

I live in rural Florida.

My local NAPA store, which is the HQ store for four satellite NAPA stores, fabs replacement hydraulic hoses while you wait if they are not busy, otherwise same day. Fair pricing.

if you cant protect the fittings from the weather why not wait till you get the new lines to disconnect them? any water in hydraulics is not good practice.

Just put plastic wrap and a rubber band over the end of each. They will be fine. Hoses being mixed up depends. There are different types of valves. Just reversing the hoses that are in a pair makes the implement respond opposite when you try and control it (Ie bucket curl and dump are reversed). If you are that concerned about it, take a quick video or pictures and reference it when you re-attach.

Depends on which hoses you mix up. If the four that operate the loader and curl then those functions won’t work.

if pressure, tank, and power beyond you risk damage to the valve. Since color coded I presume four for operating the loader so no concern about damage to valve.
