Dude! I got a new Dell!

My almost one year old one will go to someone less fortunate in our company, and I get the latest and greatest!
This truly is a "desktop" sized unit, in fact on another desk it sits under the monitor, just like in the 80's. I chose to stand mine up. It's a GX280 Optiplex, "enterprise" rated, which is all we buy nowadays. 2.8 Gig P4 processor, 40 gig hard drive (plenty since most of my stuff stays on the server) and a gig of ram.......
Yes, that's a 21" monitor.......................

Looks like a great computer you got there.

All of our flat-screens are 21 inch also. I'm really surprised at how much heat they radiate though the front of the screen.

When you spend a lot of time in front of a computer the larger monitors are much easier on the eyes.

After years with a 17" CRT, I spent the last 6 months working with a 15" flat panel, then they gave me this monster. It's easier on these tired old eyes, that's for sure, but I'm not completely sure which I like better (flat panel or CRT), but for now, it's what I will be using.

I'm facilities manager of a frozen dough manufacturing plant, we make raw frozen dough products that become sub style sandwich bread and pizza crusts. We make crusts for (among others) Little Caesars, Simple Simon's, Tyson Foods, Sysco Foods and others. We make bread for 3 large sub style sandwich chains, and breadsticks for a number of others. My desk was only clean from that specific angle, because I had to move all the crap out of the way to put the monitor and computer up there!
We're just a small (20,00 sq ft), high quality little plant out in the boonies of Kansas. Last year our products made about 11 million pizzas and about the same number of sandwiches. I'm responsible for everything to do with the manufacturing process except the employees, the production manager handles that. My responsibilities include the building, machinery, computers and phones, security, ammonia refrigeration plant etc, etc. I design, engineer, and sometimes build our manufacturing and packaging machinery, as well as maintain everything..........
