Oil & Fuel Driving my John Deere 3038E without dipstick

I have a 2014 John Deere 3038E Tractor and drove it with the dipstick removed. I was not aware of this until it ran out of oil and stopped . I turned it on very briefly and it sounded like two steel poles banging together. Is this tractor engine repairable? Arnold

I don't think you will find out if it is cost effective to repair or replace until the internals have been investigated.

Can you remove the oil pan without pulling the engine? If yes then you can possibly see the extent of the damage. I.e. bad rod bearing or bad main bearings. I suspect it will be rod bearings but possibly both.
