Well, I had to return the Rental 16 Dodge Hemi Half Ton Today. Actually, it was supposed to be Friday, but I wanted to take it a few hundred clicks to a job Sunday.
What a nice driving truck. I have a Sierra 08 Diesel SLE.
The fabric upholstry is as as awful as any of them. The cloth seats of my 94 and 2k dodges was plush and soft. The industry just went to sheit after that it seems with their plastic tablecloth type of coverings.
But I liked the split bench seat. Not that stupid console in the middle.
Love all the nooks and crannies. Not even a place to put my sunglasses in my GM!
Love the MIST button at the end of the blinker switch, within easy reach of your hands on the wheel.
Love the Express window up feature. Never seen that before.
The electric locking tailgate is a nice feature.
The back seat is a nightmare as far as wanting a flat place for my tools and equipment.
I would definitely consider another Dodge.

There was an accident here a few years ago where a semi run into a pickup. The semi and pickup were both red. The pickup had stopped in the highway due to a traffic accident or some such which is quite common on that interstate and at the time of day. The driver of the semi was drunk and/or on drugs and rear ended the picked up at a high rate of speed. The pickup driver died. It was very hard to tell where the semi ended and the pickup started. There was not much left of the pickup.
:shocked:Decades ago in FLA, I saw a Toyota station wagon get rear ended by a semi. It look like a giant had picked up the Toyota and put the rear of the car into a garbage disposal. The Toyota was shredded metal up to the front row seats. Hopefully, nobody was in the second row because I don't think anything back there could survive and even the front row was questionable. :shocked:
When I am on the Interstate and I have to slow down or stop, I try to get in the far right or far left lane so I can watch traffic behind me. If I need too, I can then drive off the road. If I have to stop for some reason that is not traffic related, I try to wait until there is an over pass and pull off into the grass behind the overpass. Now, that risks getting stuck but with 4x4 that is not likely.

At least in Boston, when someone cuts you off, they are motivated and have a plan for their next move, they're going to be cutting off someone else and on their way before you know it.
In Providence they cut you off, then almost stop and try to figure out what they are doing.
Give me the motivated guys every time. But for the truly insane, drive in Hartford (though I hear it is not as bad as Thailand, which seems to back up what the guys above are saying).
I used to drive buses and passenger vans in downtown Boston and in the financial district. We'd be stuck on the expressway or on a surface road not getting anywhere (this was during the height of the big dig construction, too, so every time around the route you might pick a different road, we only had end stops so how you got there didn't matter). Passengers would ask me if getting stuck in the traffic made me insane. "Nah, I get paid by the hour, it's the same if I make 2 loops or 5. It's not like I'm going to be late for dinner."

Most "native" North Carolinians have no clue how to handle a round about or want to stop on a yield sign, but I'll take that any time of the day over driving in the north east.
DC sucks, philly sucks, NYC sucks, Boston sucks and even 95 from Richmond to DC sucks LOL
Kind of makes me happy when I get stuck behind a tractor driving home.
My cars don't miss the road salt to boot.
I'm also old enough to understand that even in a 4x4 truck, in bad weather it's not the 4 wheel drive that saves you, but driving at a safe speed. Still remember at the gym in Syracuse a guy was bragging how great his 4X4 jeep handled on the ice. Go figure. I don't know of ANY vehicle that handles well when you have to hit the breaks on ice.
